Account Deletion Instructions

We understand that you may want to delete your Yachtero account. This page provides detailed instructions on how to permanently delete your account and what happens to your data when you do so.

Important: Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Please review all information carefully before proceeding.

1. BEFORE YOU DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT

Before proceeding with account deletion, please consider the following:

  • Download your data: Export any important information such as boat records, service history, or documents you want to keep
  • Outstanding services: Complete any pending service appointments or bookings
  • Active subscriptions: Cancel any active paid subscriptions to avoid future charges
  • Shared boats: Transfer ownership or remove yourself from any boats shared with other users
  • Service shop connections: Notify your service providers if you have ongoing relationships

Warning: Once your account is deleted, you will lose access to all your boat information, service history, and any data stored in your account. This action cannot be reversed.

2. HOW TO DELETE YOUR ACCOUNT

Mobile App (Recommended)

  1. Open the Yachtero mobile app
  2. Go to your Profile tab
  3. Scroll down to find "Account Settings"
  4. Tap "Delete Account"
  5. Follow the verification prompts
  6. Confirm your decision by typing "DELETE" when prompted
  7. Your account will be scheduled for deletion

Web Dashboard

  1. Log into your account at admin.yachtero.com
  2. Navigate to Account Settings
  3. Find the "Delete Account" section
  4. Click "Request Account Deletion"
  5. Complete the verification process
  6. Confirm your decision

Email Request

If you're unable to access your account through the app or web, you can email us directly:

Include: Your full name, email address, and phone number associated with the account

3. WHAT HAPPENS TO YOUR DATA

When you delete your account, the following data will be permanently removed:

  • Personal Information: Name, email, phone number, and profile details
  • Boat Information: All registered boats, specifications, and photos
  • Service History: Maintenance records, service appointments, and invoices
  • Communications: Messages with service providers and support tickets
  • Preferences: App settings, notifications, and customizations
  • Documents: Uploaded files, warranties, and certificates

Note: Some information may be retained for legal or regulatory purposes as outlined in our Privacy Policy.

4. DATA RETENTION POLICY

While most of your data is deleted immediately, some information may be retained for specific periods:

  • Transaction Records: Kept for 7 years for tax and accounting purposes
  • Legal Compliance: Information required by law may be retained as legally mandated
  • Security Logs: Anonymous security and access logs retained for 90 days
  • Backup Systems: Data in backup systems will be purged within 30 days

5. ALTERNATIVES TO DELETION

Consider these alternatives before permanently deleting your account:

  • Account Deactivation: Temporarily disable your account while keeping your data
  • Privacy Settings: Adjust your privacy settings to limit data sharing
  • Notification Settings: Turn off emails and push notifications
  • Data Download: Export your data and keep your account for future use
  • Support Help: Contact our support team to address specific concerns

6. ACCOUNT REACTIVATION

Grace Period: You have 30 days after requesting deletion to reactivate your account. During this period, your account is deactivated but your data remains recoverable.

After 30 Days: Your account and all associated data will be permanently deleted and cannot be recovered. You would need to create a new account and start over.

To Reactivate: Simply log into your account using your original credentials within the 30-day grace period, or contact support for assistance.
